The Dorset Guitar Society is celebrating its 20th year by holding an Anniversary Concert on Saturday 9th October at 7.30 p.m. at Kinson Community Centre, Pelhams Park, Millhams Road, Kinson, Bournemouth.

This anniversary concert will feature Britain's best loved guitarist, John Mills. The Dorset Guitar Society has played with John Mills several times including concerts at Wimborne Minster, the Seldown Gallery at Poole Arts Centre and last years mini tour in Derby, Kinson and Dorchester.

The programme will include Vivaldi's Concerto for two Mandolins (guitars). Chopin said: "Nothing is more beautiful than a guitar, save perhaps two." John Mills will be joined by second soloist DGS member Maurice Albin for this work. The DGS orchestra will be conducted by Stephen Kenyon.

The programme also features Bach's exquisite 'Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV 1041'. This has been arranged for guitars by Stephen Gordon.

John Mills will also be playing a selection of guitar solos.
